The J. Beard Real Estate was honored to sponsor the Yes to Youth Gala. The Gala was held on Saturday, September 22nd 2018 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriot. This event and cause is near and dear to our hearts, as YES to YOUTH – Montgomery County Youth Services is doing the good work for so many families in our area. Dannette Suding, the CEO of MCYS, shared some real stories of the day-to-day hardships these youths have experienced before they came to the shelter. We were so glad to hear these stories, as all too often we don’t recognize the tremendous strength to facilitate an organization like MCYS and the village it takes to help these children and their families.
Laura Everson courageously shared her story as well, and instilled a sense of transparency we wish we saw more of in our daily connections with each other. Laura Everson and Katrina Savage were the chairs of the Gala this year and have been working with Yes to Youth to raise awareness on teen depression and suicide, reiterating how important it is to remember that we never know what someone is going through.
