Senior Property Accountant

Full Job Description

The J. Beard Property Management Company, LLC is looking for an experienced Senior Property Accountant to become part of our J. Beard Property Management Company, LLC.

Position Summary:

The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for commercial property accounting and preparing and analyzing monthly and quarterly financial reports.

Position Responsibilities:

Perform month-end close process, including preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis and monthly financial statement review for property portfolio.
Review and approve accounts payable invoices.
Perform quarterly financial variance analysis and lender requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors/lenders for quarterly reviews and year-end audit.
Maintains open communication with accounting team and property managers.
Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
Reconcile monthly bank statements to the general ledger.
Assist in preparation and review of common area maintenance and real estate tax reconciliations.
Assist in review and preparation of annual property budgets.
Special projects and other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

Solid understanding of accounting processes.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and related products.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting REQUIRED. CPA a plus.
2-4 years of accounting experience required.
Must be deadline focused, organized, and exhibit problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication

Experience with MRI, AvidX and Avid Vendor pay, or other real estate accounting software is a plus.
